Scientific Studies and Data

Science has discovered the active chemical compounds contained in Cannabis; they know how to isolate them and more importantly, how they work in the brain and rest of the body.  Studies have also shown that Cannabidiol (CBD) has far more medical applications than THC and unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive.  This is a Godsend for people who feel uncomfortable with the psychological effects of THC.  Hundreds of scientific/clinical studies confirm its remarkable health benefits.

Interesting:  Because of the mounting evidence resulting from The Department of Health and Human Services conducting its own research on CBD, they were granted a use patent for cannabinoids!

From DHHS Studies: Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants: Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health and Human Services.

US 6630507 B1:

Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties.  This property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment of prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases such as ischemic, age related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.  The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease and HIV dementia.  Non-psychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol (CBD) are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity.
